Square nuts are typically used with square bolts and are also widely utilized in pole line hardware and utility equipment. Because hot-dip galvanizing adds approximately 2.2 to 5 mils of thickness to the threaded section of a fastener, our galvanized square nuts are tapped oversize. This ensures a proper fit after the corrosion-resistant coating is applied to the mating bolts.
