EBB currently supplies a selected range of “Baseline Bolt” branded shear plates. Our shear plate wood connectors are primarily designed for wood-to-steel and wood-to-wood connections, especially in demountable structures and applications where they are used in paired configurations. Shear plates help distribute loads efficiently while also reducing the number of bolts required.
In addition, shear plates are widely used to:
Attach columns to concrete footings through steel gusset plates
Secure steel straps
Transfer loads in bowstring trusses
Support various steel-to-wood connections, particularly in heavy timber construction
