Swaged rods, also known as swaged anchor bolts or swaged anchor rods, are commonly used as an alternative to headed anchor bolts, bent anchor bolts, epoxy anchors, and threaded anchor rods. These anchors are widely used in highway construction projects, particularly in applications near bridge bearings.
The threaded end projects above the concrete, while the embedded end features swaged indentations pressed into the round bar to provide superior pull-out resistance. The AASHTO and the National Steel Bridge Alliance officially refer to these fasteners as swaged anchor rods.
The indentations are formed by displacing the steel through a pressing process rather than by machining, which enhances structural integrity and anchoring performance.
Manufacturing
Baseline Bolts manufactures high-quality swaged anchor rods in diameters up to 3″. We understand that many clients, engineers, and agencies may require custom swedging patterns to meet specific design and performance requirements.
To accommodate these needs, BBI is fully equipped to produce custom swaged anchor rods to exact specifications. Simply provide a drawing of the required pattern along with the indentation dimensions, and our team will manufacture your swaged anchor rods efficiently and with precision.
